I Sat Without Apology

I used to measure the day by how far I’d walked. How much I’d learned.
How many new places I’d touched.

But today, I sat. Just sat.

In the shade of a temple wall. Beside a bench I didn’t plan to find. Across from a cat who didn’t ask who I was.

And I didn’t rush. Didn’t check the time.
Didn’t try to capture it in words or photos.

The breeze came and went.
The light changed shape. I watched people pass — not quickly, not slowly, just… human.

And in that stillness, I didn’t feel guilty. Didn’t feel behind. Didn’t feel like I owed the world an explanation for being still.

Some days, sitting is the most honest thing I can do.

And today, I did it without apology.
